GES-2 House of Culture aims to become a space for collaboration and knowledge exchange, where listeners and performers, theorists and practitioners, professionals and enthusiasts can participate in a collective exploration of the musical landscape.

What does it mean to hear and listen to contemporary culture? How does one find like-minded individuals and reference points within it? What forms can sound research take? What defines a musical environment as contemporary? In seeking answers to these and other questions, the curators transcend genres and styles, offering a broader perspective: from immersion in local musical communities to engagement with international experts in contemporary music.

The central theme of GES-2: Sound in 2025 is an exploration of local boundaries. Where does the local end and the global begin? Addressing this question speaks to the current state not only of the music industry but of culture as a whole. The programme’s projects offer various entry points into sonic experience, presenting diverse event formats that enable the examination of music and sound as reflections of contemporaneity.

Key events in 2025 will include the launch of regular listening sessions and musical community showcases, as well as the third season of the GES-2 Soundsystem project.
