A hurricane is approaching a coastal town. June is heartbroken over a break-up with her boyfriend, whilst her parents pack to flee. Aspiring stand-up comedians Mike and Will decide to use the opportunity to move to Philadelphia. Taylor ignores the warnings, only to end up in the eye of the storm with a camera in his hands. Everyone is reaching out to someone, but none of them are really succeeding.

Still from No Sleep Till, 2024

No Sleep Till reins in its apocalyptic premise with a neon-soaked palette that turns diners, motels, and swimming pools into fairy-tale settings.

Alexandra Simpson’s debut was produced under the auspices of Omnes Films, a collective that proclaims its mission to “study the many forms of cultural decay in the 21st century.” Simpson finds this decay in situations on the cusp of change and in her portrayal of a multifaceted ensemble of characters, which is somehow elusively unable to become a fully-fledged community. The film transforms into a genuine behind-the-scenes glimpse of reality.
