A blind father-tyrant abuses his young daughter on the shores of a boundless lake. A son reads to his elderly mother, who is doomed to play Moonlight Sonata until her dying day. Two homeless men argue about death as they settle down in a garbage bin by the walls of parliament. A pair of filmmakers are looking for someone to film...

Still from Endgame, 2025

At a time when so many films to come out of the festival circuit seem bound by the same storytelling and aesthetic conventions, to venture into the cinema of Alejo Moguillansky is to experience an electrifying cognitive dissonance.

—Leonardo Goi, Mubi Notebook

Behind this play on words in the film’s title lies an attempt to juxtapose the text of the great Irishman with a multitude of other realities that interest Mogiljansky—from Argentinians’ political helplessness to the theatricality of family relationships and true closeness on stage. It’s like the director is peering into Beckett’s world and discovering a portal to a multiverse within it.
