The Coastline Paradox is an exhibition that explores the cultural, ecological and social landscapes of the Kamchatka peninsula, problems of tourism, the disappearance of languages, and the use of natural resources. The exhibition project also reveals new forms for presenting these issues in contemporary culture.

Through artworks, materials from ethnographic expeditions, and a survey of the long history of the peninsula, the mediators will initiate a group discussion on the challenges faced by the artistic community and inhabitants of Kamchatka. We will also try to ascertain if compromise solutions are possible in environmentally sustainable development.
