Scientists use the Earth Similarity Index to assess the possibility of life on other planets and their suitability for settlement. Chemists, biologists and astrophysicists have thus proposed a seemingly rational view of the Earth, although alternative viewpoints also exist.

LIMÉ is the official partner of the GES-2 House of Culture mediation programmе.

The Similarity Index exhibition offers a fragmentary view concentrating on individual territories and personal histories that have a connection with them—places such as a mine, a lost garden or an abandoned grave. The Index can no longer be reduced to a neutral formula, and becomes a way to recognize personal involvement in such problems as the conflicts of colonialism and the exploitation of natural resources.

A utilitarian view of the Earth is contrasted by the experience of individual people, communities and ethnic groups from all over the world: from Brazil and China to the Arctic.

Together with the mediators, GES-2 House of Culture invites you to discuss artistic, poetic and intuitive methods for perceiving Planet Earth and its territories.
