Mediated tour focusing on the exhibition project exploring “punctuation” as it manifests in the body, landscape, and interactions between environments.

The exhibition Hesitation Marks invites visitors to consider how pauses and hesitations exist not only in speech but also in bodily expressions and space. Through works specially commissioned for the exhibition, artists explore how involuntary gestures, delays, and other “punctuation marks” interrupt the smooth flow of everyday life and reveal unexpected properties of our environment.

Evgeniya Suslova. Pavilion of the Mother Tongue, 2025

What punctuation marks can we identify in our speech and gestures? Why do we find pedestrians’ awkward stumbles amusing? How have artists and researchers interpreted and challenged automatism?

Official partner of the GES-2 House of Culture mediation programmе.

Through video works, installations, performances, and other media, we shall explore how interruptions and pauses can become starting points for reconsidering familiar connections between word, body, and space.
