The Space In-Between: Fragments of Modernism in the Global Context continues this line of inquiry. We invite you to join a discussion on the plurality of modernist trajectories and their relevance today.
We will explore diverse approaches to defining “other modernisms” whilst examining the tensions that arise between seeking national or regional identities and pursuing international connections.

Conditions of participation
You are at least 18 years old.
You are able to attend the conference online or offline.
You are a researcher of art or culture with a completed degree in higher education.
You are engaged in one the following topics of research:
— Concepts of modernisation in art
— National culture and art as a space of collision and synthesis of modernist trajectories (destabilisation, fragmentation, echoes, hybridisation)
— Indigeneity as a search for uniqueness and a form of populism
— Transatlantic and southern ties. Forms of cultural diplomacy
— The politics of regional modernism: institutions, exhibitions, manifestos
— Migrant, nomad, tourist: artists and other practitioners of art and culture in exile and in transit
