GES-2 House of Culture’s recurring programme for new artists and creative students lets participants get advice from experts—curators and art university teachers—and meet like-minded peers from other creative programmes.

An artist can hardly do without a portfolio—a visual CV presenting their body of work. GES-2 invites emerging artists to gain an outside perspective on their artistic portfolio and individual works within it, to engage in meaningful dialogue with curators, and to map out the next steps in their career.

Participants will have the opportunity to present their portfolio to a small group of V–A–C Foundation and GES-2 House of Culture curators, guest specialists, lecturers in contemporary art, and emerging curators. The programme aims to foster a professional community in which participants can receive feedback, make connections, and meet like-minded practitioners.

If you are an emerging curator, art critic, or art historian, you are welcome to attend sessions as an observer. This is a chance to see how artists present their work and to discover the approaches of your peers. By joining the sessions, you can broaden your professional network, find collaborators, and take part in discussions.

The programme is designed for the exchange of professional experience and knowledge in the field of contemporary art. We aim for open discussions where everyone can share ideas freely and get valuable feedback from colleagues.

How to get involved?

We seek new collaboration opportunities. If you are teaching at an art institution and would like to hold a portfolio review with your group of students, please write to us at universities@ges-2.org.

Eligibility

— You are aged 18 or over.

— You are able to attend the review in person.

— Each portfolio presentation is allocated 10 minutes, followed by 5–7 minutes for discussion.
