Throughout the day, psychotherapist Linda’s patience is tested by her patients. At night, she is kept awake by the noise of the machine her sick daughter is connected to. She is exhausted by separation from her husband. Finally, the ceiling in her apartment collapses, forcing the heroine and her daughter to move, and it seems that reality itself is beginning to fall apart.

Byrne gives a towering performance, a feat of intelligence and energy that tightly binds to all of Bronstein’s heady, propulsive style.

Is it easy to be a woman? A mother? A wife? Director Mary Bronstein’s film is a mixture of anxiety and humour.
