The aristocratic Davenport family risks losing their estate, Fackham Hall, unless one of their daughters is married off urgently. The most convenient match seems to be their cousin, but the Davenport girls are more fond of lowly stable boys and thieves, and no one at Fackham Hall, where degradation and stupidity reign supreme, is capable of thinking two steps ahead.
