Something has happened on Earth—perhaps another war. Civilisation lies in ruins, countries are searching anew for values and priorities. In Ethiopia, a new mythology has formed around the crumbs of 20th century pop culture: some pray at the altar of Michael Jordan, others peddle Ninja Turtles figurines. Candy, a hunched little man, hunts for these fragments of a bygone world, and when inexplicable events start happening around him, he embarks on a journey to discover the truth about himself.

It’s hard not to succumb at least somewhat to this sci-fi whatsit’s strange, whimsical spell.

— Ben Kenigsberg, The New York Times

Spaniard Miguel Llanso’s debut is both an extravagant, post-postmodern road movie and a hallucinogenic Afrofuturist vision of a world stuck in the past and at the same time searching for itself in the future.
