Four racers compete for victory in the Formula 1 championship, each with their own driving style and personal share of misfortunes to contend with. Such is the plot of John Frankenheimer’s Grand Prix (1966), perhaps the finest film about motor racing in history. But what remains if we set this plot aside?

A true masterpiece, and a rare cinematic experience!
— Olaf Möller, International Film Festival Rotterdam
Austrian artist and director Norbert Pfaffenbichler has completely re-edited Grand Prix—from the shortest shot to the longest. The classic tale of the path to success and its price is transformed into a story about time, one that compels us to finally stop chasing it and try to listen to its passage.
